Biography

Aleksis Delimpaltidis is a Greek pianist and piano teacher based in The Netherlands. His work has deep roots in the classical tradition while remaining open to exploration and collaboration. Guided by his honesty, authenticity and curiosity, he approaches music making as both a personal craft and a shared dialogue linking himself to his audience.

As a performer, Aleksis is particularly drawn to the romantic and baroque repertoires, often combining programs that bridge these two distinct styles. He seeks to create meaningful connections between eras, by introducing lyricism and warmth into the baroque works while also revealing structural clarity in romantic repertoire. He is inviting audiences to experience classical music from a fresh perspective by presenting lesser-performed repertoire, believing that exploring these works enriches the listener's understanding of broader classical traditions.

Chamber music plays a central role in his artistic identity. He has participated in a wide range of chamber music settings and is currently a member of two ensembles. Trio Lyrae is an international piano trio consisting of violin, cello and piano where musicians from different cultural backgrounds come together through a shared passion for classical repertoire. Aegean Echoes is a trio with baritone, mezzo-soprano, and piano, focusing on Greek repertoire that blends traditional Greek musical elements with European classical compositional techniques. This ensemble focuses on works by such as Manos Hadjidakis, whose music captures the Greek spirit within a 20th-century classical framework.

Aleksis is deeply committed to nurturing students as independent and critical thinkers. Through his lessons, he guides them to refine their practice methods and develop their own musical tastes. He believes that a strong foundation and thoughtful guidance are essential to long-term artistic growth. His teaching practice prioritises consistency, clarity, and student well-being, ensuring steady progress.

Whether performing, collaborating, or teaching Aleksis Delimpaltidis remains dedicated to preserving classical tradition while allowing space for cultural influences and personal expression. He firmly believes that openness and strong foundations are keys to artistic longevity.
